Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Chromebook pick-up event from 8:00-3:00. If you do not owe any money for damages from any school and have filled out your AUA, you can come and pick-up your Chromebook and charger at the front of the school tomorrow. The cutoff to have your AUA filled out is midnight tonight. Unfortunately, anyone who fills out the AUA after midnight will have to wait until the first day of school to get your Chromebook. Wrangler Students and Families: We will be having a Chromebook pick-up event on Friday, August 10th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will hand out Chromebooks and chargers to any student that has filled out their Digital AUA form and does not owe any money for Chromebook damages or loss. Any student(s) unable to pick up their Chromebook at this event will get their Chromebook on the first day of school. Parents or guardians do not need to be with their student to pick up their Chromebook. Also, students do not need to be with their parent or guardians. NOTE: Chromebooks WILL NOT be handed out during our Open Houses.

We must have this form filled out before your student(s) will receive a Chromebook and charger for them to use to do their school work this year. (NOTE: Any students that owe money for lost chargers or unpaid tech repairs from GJHS or any previous school will not receive their Chromebooks/chargers until they have paid for their tech repairs or charger replacements.)

Padres, Familias y Estudiantes de la Escuela Secundaria George Junior,
Quiero informarles que hemos actualizado nuestro código de vestimenta para el año escolar 2023-24. Sentimos que pasamos demasiado tiempo fuera de clase lidiando con infracciones menores del código de vestimenta. Además, con solo una mujer administradora, la división del trabajo en esta área estaba extremadamente sesgada entre nosotros tres. Con el apoyo y aportes de la administración de nuestro distrito y el Gabinete del Director 2021-22, compuesto por 97 estudiantes, modificamos nuestra política de código de vestimenta para 2022-23. Esto incluyó permitir que los estudiantes usen sombreros, pero no capuchas, y relajar los estrictos estándares que parecían apuntar de manera desproporcionada a nuestras estudiantes mujeres. Desafortunadamente, notamos un aumento en la vestimenta inapropiada durante el año pasado. Por lo tanto, estamos modificando nuestro código de vestimenta en consecuencia.
Una de nuestras mayores responsabilidades como educadores de este nivel es preparar a nuestros alumnos para el ingreso al mundo profesional. Esto incluye, pero no se limita a, cómo deben vestirse según el entorno en el que se encuentren. La ropa que puede ser apropiada en entornos sociales fuera de la escuela puede no ser apropiada en la escuela o en un entorno laboral. No permitiremos que hombres o mujeres usen ropa demasiado reveladora. Eso incluye camisas de abdomen, pantalones cortos o faldas demasiado cortos, camisetas sin mangas, camisetas sin mangas y sostenes deportivos. Tampoco permitiremos que los estudiantes usen estas cosas y las cubran con chaquetas. Descubrimos que, en la mayoría de los casos, los estudiantes se quitan las chaquetas cuando creen que ningún adulto les está prestando atención. Los estudiantes que se encuentren fuera del código de vestimenta retirarán la ropa apropiada propiedad de la escuela para usar durante el día y dejarán su ropa inapropiada en la oficina. También se les asignará detención después de la escuela. Esto permitirá que los estudiantes no pierdan tiempo de instrucción debido a violaciones del código de vestimenta. Esperamos que al difundir la información con anticipación, esto permitirá que los estudiantes y las familias tengan tiempo para planificar sus guardarropas en consecuencia.
Además, se pueden usar sudaderas con capucha, pero NO se pueden usar capuchas en el edificio. Esta no es una regla nueva. Más bien, lo haremos cumplir de manera diferente este año. Si un estudiante usa una capucha en el edificio, se le advertirá una vez que se la quite. Si violan nuevamente, la sudadera con capucha será confiscada y los padres/tutores serán notificados para que vengan a recoger la sudadera con capucha y el estudiante no podrá usar una sudadera con capucha nuevamente.
