DTSOI 6th grader, Sydney Stout, creates and delivers cards for residents of a local nursing home each holiday. She recently helped lead an iTime sharing her initial why and card making ideas with other students. Sydney has so many more to deliver this Thanksgiving thanks to her #PhoenixFam!

#PhoenixFam educators recently attended the inaugural Enspire NWA Conference hosted by Youth Entrepreneurship Institute. Sessions offered ways to foster an entrepreneurial mindset in youth and featured a keynote speech from DTSOI’s own student entrepreneur, Joseph Rouse.

Food Friday for the #PhoenixFam looks like multiple ways to support deserving causes! Students will have the opportunity to buy snacks and benefit Shop With A Cop and National Honor Society's efforts to feed our community.

Congrats to our #PhoenixFam Debate and Forensics Team for bringing home 35 individual trophies and three 1st place team awards after competing in Little Rock over the weekend! Dara Cuenca and Naomi Tahirou earned a bid to the University of Kentucky Tournament of Champions tournament in the Spring. This tournament marked the team's third 1st Place finish of the year.

Let's celebrate our veterans! DTSOI is holding its annual Veterans Day Celebration on November 10th. The PTSA will be providing pastries and snacks for all those in attendance. The DTSOI Cross Country team did an amazing job representing the #Phoenixfam at the State meet in Hot Springs yesterday. The team finished in 8th place and Senior Pedro Morales finished 11th overall! Great job Phoenixes! We are proud of our runners and appreciate all the hard work from our coaches Gabe Gonzalez, Dasun Keylor, April Jenkins, and Bryant Davis!

We love celebrating with our #Phoenixfam! DTSOI 6th - 8th grade students celebrated the end of first quarter with a Fall Festival last week sponsored by POM, a student organization led by Teachers Sara Lee, Sarah Skelton and Lauren Simco. Students enjoyed a bounce house obstacle course, games, food, face painting and music!

Teachers Sahara White and Kerri Packwood took a group of DTSOI students to visit Willow Creek Women's Hospital last week. They got to see and try out the new surgical robot at the hospital. They even got to name it! The group chose the name DaWillowVinki GAAL aka "Willow", and were asked to present the name at the Chamber Of Commerce event. We are proud of you #Phoenixfam! What a cool experience!!

Our #PhoenixFam orchestra students had a great experience at region tryouts. Congrats to Logan Fogg for making the region orchestra for the second year in a row!
