An educator for more than a decade in California, Tom Doppe has been named assistant principal at the Don Tyson School of Innovation. He replaces Damon Donnell who has moved into the position of district Coordinator of Student Support Services.

“I couldn’t have landed at a better place,” Doppe said. “This is a great opportunity. Many of the things I was working on in California are being done at the Don Tyson School of Innovation but the DTSOI is much farther along. Working at the DTSOI is like being forwarded 10 years in this work from where I was.”

A graduate of California State-East Bay, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Teaching English Literature, Doppe earned his master’s in Teacher Leadership from St. Mary’s.

He was an English teacher for seven years at Concord High School before serving two years as assistant principal, then five years as principal at Alhambra High School. He was promoted to Director of Educational Services from the Martinez Unified School District before moving to Arkansas.

Tom Doppe’s experience on a national level personifies the attributes that have contributed to the great team of administrators we have assembled in Springdale.
